About us
Cyberplanetary began with John Benac’s need to build worlds for artificial people. That goal needs more than characters: places to inhabit, ways to interact, and tools for building and operating environments. Rather than create a system that serves only his own use case, John is developing reusable infrastructure that other developers and creators can adapt for their own worlds.
John has not settled what rules those worlds should follow. Cyberplanetary leaves room for different institutions, geometries, resource arrangements, and forms of participation, using small experiments to explore those choices without imposing one set of rules on every world. The work is early and experimental; the current browser demonstrations are bounded synthetic mechanisms, not populated societies. Developers and creators are welcome to explore the ideas, build on the world tooling, and bring purposes John has not anticipated.
