Profiles

A profile defines a bounded function through identified base specifications and requirements. It allows developers to share particular capabilities without having to build the same kind of world.

Profiles are voluntary. A world or implementation may advertise none, one, or several. Anyone can author an independent profile.

Reuse without a universal world model

A profile can select, constrain, extend, or combine identified specifications while preserving their applicable requirements. A topic or label is not a completed profile: any required interactions need specified messages and processing rules.

A profile version identifies an edition of requirements. It is not the same thing as an implementation’s software release.

Listing several profiles does not establish that they compose correctly. A support claim is distinct from implementation, assessment, successful interaction, and permission to proceed.

Profiles in implementation release 0.1.0

HTTP Registration. Attached signed submissions, ordered revisions and catalog-local receipts. Publication is a separate operator decision.

Linked Resources. A signed commitment to a resource manifest and downloadable content. A generic reader can check bytes without a world ontology.

Static GLB Scene. A small, self-contained glTF 2.0 scene subset. Cipherlot uses it; Journal Vaults does not.

Each is an experimental, requirements-bearing specification with identified bases. They do not make those capabilities compulsory for other worlds.

Initial development areas

Area Possible subject of a bounded agreement
Cells and internal addressing Describing or resolving user-facing units within worlds.
Geometry Exchanging particular spatial representations.
Avatars Representations and operations involving avatars.
Artificial people Selected exchanges between participating implementations.
Resource sharing Specified interactions for contributions and shared services.
Economic arrangements Particular payment, credit, or exchange interfaces.

These remain development areas, not six released profiles or a final taxonomy. The three bounded profiles above are the present implementation release.

Adopting a profile does not impose its subject matter on other worlds. A world without geometry, avatars, artificial people, or an economy can still be the subject of a registration.
